This antique platinum ring dates to approximately 1915, placing it in the Edwardian / Belle Époque period, with subtle elements of the emerging Art Deco style.

The ring features an elegant openwork platinum design accented by 0.41 ct total weight of natural old mine cut diamonds. The flowing shoulders and delicate platinum construction are characteristic of early 20th-century jewelry, when platinum became especially popular for creating intricate, lightweight designs.

At the center is a 0.82 ct natural sapphire, which we personally selected and set during the restoration of the ring. The original antique platinum mounting was otherwise destined to be scrapped, so we restored it and gave it a new center stone and a new life.

The old mine cut diamonds remain part of the ring's original character, with the unique proportions and individuality expected from hand-cut antique diamonds.

No visible maker's mark or hallmark was found on the shank, so the date is an estimated attribution based on the ring's construction, materials, diamond cuts, and design.

A beautiful example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, thoughtfully restored and ready to be worn and appreciated for generations to come.
